How the Chatbot Works

The RainMakerz chatbot uses retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) to answer questions grounded in your uploaded documents. When you ask a question, the system searches your data room for relevant passages, then generates an answer that synthesizes the information with inline citations.

Citation Format

Every factual claim in a chatbot response includes a clickable citation in the format [Source: Document Name, Page X]. Clicking the citation opens the source document at the exact location, allowing you to verify the information and understand the full context.

Use Cases

Due Diligence Q&A

Ask specific questions about financial performance, contractual terms, or risk factors. Example: "What are the key customer concentration risks based on the revenue breakdown?" The chatbot will pull relevant data from financial statements, customer lists, and management presentations.

Embedded Chatbot for LPs

When you publish a deliverable as a secure web page, the embedded chatbot lets recipients (LPs, board members) ask follow-up questions about the analysis. This increases transparency and reduces back-and-forth emails.

Best Practices

Ask specific, focused questions rather than broad ones. Use follow-up questions to drill deeper into a topic. If the chatbot indicates low confidence or insufficient sources, consider uploading additional relevant documents to improve coverage.
